About UsEvil Eyes: the Mummy is a literate storytelling Role Playing Game based upon the series the Mummy (1999) and the Mummy Returns (2001). It tells the tale of two powerful amulets known as the Amulets of Karawan, which were created by the Egyptian God Set upon the request of Pharaoh Seti I. But with every magical artifact that enters the world, anarchy is bound to arise, and in the Year of the Scorpion, 1933, shortly after it’s reappearance in the world and after the defeat of Mathayus the Scorpion King, that anarchy continues as a race around the world begins. As a whole Evil Eyes: the Mummy centers on the convergence of cultures, religions and characters from different countries. Real world happenings do occur in this game as we do not deny what occurs in the real world here like most Role Playing Games do. That said, the game does have its fantasy elements and we enjoy player creativity here. We’re also played in ‘arcs’ as each new location we’re set in is considered a whole new chapter. Our members not only get to decide the games next location and its events, but with each new location it comes with new magical items, artifacts and intrigue. So the question now is: do you think you can survive? Updates
Yay for updated info!Posted by Vicky in Information on 2010-02-11 23:58:29 PST
A lot of information on the site has been corrected and rewritten. Like I’ve stated before probably, I’ve been going around updating information and correcting grammar and spelling mistakes, and sometimes I forget to update this place to let you know! 0; The information is at least a year old, and it’s time for an upgrade on information. The Amulets of Karawan article has been completely rewritten, except for the fact that we are currently working on the plot holes with the Amulet of Khaldun’s section. But don’t worry, it’s still readable! Just beware that we’re working on the rewrite of the Amulet of Khaldun. tell a friend :: comments 0 Heroes, Djed, Military men, oh my!Posted by Vicky in General on 2010-02-02 23:00:36 PST
Well, we’ve had quite a few things going on recently. Our activity check has ended, but we lost our Ardeth Bey (who will be missed 0; ). So now Ardeth is up for grabs, and anyone who takes him will seriously be epically loved, as he’s involved in a ton of major plots right now that need him to get things rolling. You can find a lot more information on him here. In other news, no one else was deleted other than the loss of Ardeth, but we also did some reconstruction of the forums. The Role Playing boards are now more organized than before, as we deleted a ton of unnecessary boards that seemed to clutter the forum. The forum should now be easier to navigate, and we believe that threads are easier to find. On that note some minor things have changed around the forum as well, such as the forum width, the height of the forum banner, etc. We also have some new players aboard, Ducky is taking up the role of Jonathan, Em is taking up the role of Akhom, and Rob is playing Konrad, a Nazi! What does that mean? Simple, we’re now accepting characters that partake in the military, provided that you research the military force that your character’s partaking in. We’ve got quite a few military nerds on the board, so no research = bad. Also on that note, we’d like to state that the member groups have been rearranged. We now have only six member groups, and those are: ancients, civilians, Djed, Medjai, military and scholars. The suggestion was made by Lee, and we felt that it would have kept things more organized by eliminating unnecessary groups. On that note, if you find yourself in a different member group than you were originally in, don’t worry! We changed it on purpose as our member groups changed. On a completely different subject now in regards to the forums, we have installed a program onto the forums that is supposed to eliminate the number of bots that crawl on the site. We seemed to have gone over our disk usage one day last week, and the site went completely offline! 0; So to eliminate the spiders that were causing this problem, we installed that, as well as a member group specifically for spiders. If you find yourself caught in the spider group and you are NOT a spider then please let us know! Oh, and new Djed premades are available, too. tell a friend :: comments 0 Oh, you know, the usual.Posted by Vicky in General on 2010-01-23 12:00:21 PST

So I finally managed to update the site a little. You’ll notice this in the articles section in particular in look, as I figured I didn’t like the column style. Anyway! Here’s some new things going about:
tell a friend :: comments 0 Forums Upgraded to SMF 2.0RC2.Posted by Vicky in Information on 2010-01-13 15:50:24 PST
For those of you unaware the forums were just recently upgraded from SMF 1.1.11 to SMF 2.0RC2 earlier this week. Although we had some minor problems after the upgrade, we managed to get the forums up and running to the way they should be. The skin is now the way it should be, as it now resembles the old 1.1.11 skin for familiarity. Members are now welcome to create and post in topics as well as continue with their daily routines. Please note that if you find a bug on the forums to let the staff members know! We want to keep the forums running as stable as possible, and we’ll need help on your part! With that said, we are aware of the “size” tag issue. This is nothing that can be fixed on my part, but more so on your part as you can edit your size tags to match the coding style of SMF 2.0RC2. Aside from that, some of the articles on the site had some technical work done to them. You’ll notice this specifically in the Medjai and Djed articles where we now use a different kind of table to host the static information. Not to mention, our storyline was rewritten once again in order to make it easier to read (as well as add in information that was missing). It is still the same plot, simply written differently. tell a friend :: comments 0 |
