Evil Eyes: The Mummy is a post The Mummy Returns (2001) Role Playing Game set approximately one year after the climax of the series. It tells the tale of the Amulets of Karawan, two powerful amulets created by the Egyptian gods Hathor and Set for Pharaoh Seti I. When anarchy rose in the ancient world they transported themselves into 1934, approximately one year after the defeat of Mathayus the Scorpion King, thus leaving our protagonists and antagonists to be called upon to partake in a globetrotting adventure!

As a globetrotting survival horror game we take pride in the convergence of cultures and religions. Events that occurred in the 1930s do happen behind-the-scenes in this game while characters focus on the adventure at hand. Characters can be from any ethnicity and occupation the player chooses while research is encouraged for the history! So now the question is do you think you can survive?

We're now set in 1934!

Posted by Vicky in Updates on 2010-04-18 11:03:39 PDT

We’ve got a lot going on! Lee and I realized that after one of Draegon’s posts that our timeline was incorrect to work with the Mummy Returns, so we had to bump the games year to 1934. We do plan on making a timeline of events that also includes Ancient Egypt, as well as the Mummy and the Mummy Return’s events, followed by EE’s events. All threads that took place in 1933 have been bumped to 1934 unless it was truly needed to be in 1933s date. Our October summaries have also been updated, and we’ve been doing a lot of advertising lately and we had a small spree yesterday because the Mummy was on AMC. Ellis is now playing Jonathan Carnahan, so welcome her aboard! I believe now that our only two canons available are Rick O’Connell and Izzy Buttons, but we have plenty of premades available! So snag those canons while they last because they’re going down pretty quickly!

New folks? Lots of Updates? Canon Characters available? Oh my!

Posted by Vicky in Characters on 2010-04-07 14:12:40 PDT

We’ve got literally a ton of things going on! The summaries have been updated, we’ve got tons of new characters, and on that note I’d like to welcome Emily, who’s playing Nicolas Janowitz and Suhad Menma’atre, Sophia who’s playing Vincent Hightower, Lydia who’s playing Alex O’Connell, and Draegon who’s playing Ardeth Bey!

Our character index has been updated recently and it’ll keep on being updated as we get new people. I’d like to state now that the role of Rick O’Connell has been put up as available due to the inactivity of our previous Rick, so we’re currently seeking a new Rick! If you’re interested in the role and would like to apply, please intend on being active! We really need an active Rick for certain plots to go about. We’re also looking for an Anck-su-namun now too, so interested Anck-su-namun players can now snag her! Both Rick and Anck-su-namun come with plots! >D

New layout?!

Posted by Vicky in Updates on 2010-03-27 21:27:42 PDT

Shocker, isn’t it? I made a new layout at last! The tan layout was beginning to get old and I felt that we were in need of a change of scenery. The layout features images from the Mummy Returns, and to compliment the Ireland arc, we decided to use scenes from Ahm Shere’s jungle. I’m not done skinning the layout for the forums, so unfortunately that’s still featuring a desert skin. I’ll probably wind up skinning the forum’s layout to match our website’s layout later today, if not on Monday. Other than the layout change, our activity check was finished, and we’ve lost several members because they failed to respond to the check. If you’re one of those members that were deleted, you’re more than welcome to reapply; just remember to get active!

Yay for updated info!

Posted by Vicky in Information on 2010-02-11 23:58:29 PST

A lot of information on the site has been corrected and rewritten. Like I’ve stated before probably, I’ve been going around updating information and correcting grammar and spelling mistakes, and sometimes I forget to update this place to let you know! 0; The information is at least a year old, and it’s time for an upgrade on information. The Amulets of Karawan article has been completely rewritten, except for the fact that we are currently working on the plot holes with the Amulet of Khaldun’s section. But don’t worry, it’s still readable! Just beware that we’re working on the rewrite of the Amulet of Khaldun.

Also on that note Hamunaptra’s article has been rewritten, and a lot of general maintenance has taken place throughout the site. I am currently working on Ceridwen’s Cauldron’s article, and that should be up shortly once I complete the article and everyone finishes plotting on it. No, there isn’t a discussion thread for this on the forum, folks. We apologize, but since our members have Yahoo, we discussed this article there as well as on the Ajax Chat. Don’t fret though! The article should be up by this weekend. I just need to finish writing it!

Last but not least, the soundtracks are back online, or at least one of them. We’re currently working on putting together Hamunaptra’s instrumental track before we rebuild the rest of the soundtrack’s we’ve had before, and they should be online soon. Also on that note there has been an update to the application format, although it is not a requirement to fill out, we’d like it if players have at least ONE subplot that they’d like to work towards in the game when they first begin. We’ve noticed that people have been applying for pretty obscure occupations, and sometimes these characters might have difficulty in threading right away. It should be noted that it isn’t a requirement that you do this, but it helps not only yourself, but the staff and members to get you involved quicker as we rely heavily on player interaction and idea’s.

Heroes, Djed, Military men, oh my!

Posted by Vicky in General on 2010-02-02 23:00:36 PST

Well, we’ve had quite a few things going on recently. Our activity check has ended, but we lost our Ardeth Bey (who will be missed 0; ). So now Ardeth is up for grabs, and anyone who takes him will seriously be epically loved, as he’s involved in a ton of major plots right now that need him to get things rolling. You can find a lot more information on him here.

In other news, no one else was deleted other than the loss of Ardeth, but we also did some reconstruction of the forums. The Role Playing boards are now more organized than before, as we deleted a ton of unnecessary boards that seemed to clutter the forum. The forum should now be easier to navigate, and we believe that threads are easier to find. On that note some minor things have changed around the forum as well, such as the forum width, the height of the forum banner, etc.

We also have some new players aboard, Ducky is taking up the role of Jonathan, Em is taking up the role of Akhom, and Rob is playing Konrad, a Nazi! What does that mean? Simple, we’re now accepting characters that partake in the military, provided that you research the military force that your character’s partaking in. We’ve got quite a few military nerds on the board, so no research = bad. Also on that note, we’d like to state that the member groups have been rearranged. We now have only six member groups, and those are: ancients, civilians, Djed, Medjai, military and scholars. The suggestion was made by Lee, and we felt that it would have kept things more organized by eliminating unnecessary groups.

On that note, if you find yourself in a different member group than you were originally in, don’t worry! We changed it on purpose as our member groups changed. On a completely different subject now in regards to the forums, we have installed a program onto the forums that is supposed to eliminate the number of bots that crawl on the site. We seemed to have gone over our disk usage one day last week, and the site went completely offline! 0; So to eliminate the spiders that were causing this problem, we installed that, as well as a member group specifically for spiders. If you find yourself caught in the spider group and you are NOT a spider then please let us know!

Oh, and new Djed premades are available, too.
