About Us

First and foremost, welcome to Evil Eyes: The Mummy, the longest running Role Playing Game based on the Mummy and the Mummy Returns! We first opened our doors on May 5th, 2007 after posting a topic on RPG Collection about the possibility of opening a game like this. After having people interested, we created and opened the board on a Proboards forum. Although our first version was unorganized and didn’t last long due to the lack of interest, we reopened the game on the same Proboards forum and started over sometime in fall 2008. This time, it took a completely new outlook on things, and we even managed to get past Hamunaptra’s arc.

Unfortunately due to the lack of activity and school, version 2.0 of Evil Eyes: the Mummy was closed down, and it wasn’t until January 30th, 2009 where the staff members proposed making a new version on Invisionfree upon agreement of our members. Like our previous versions, we’ve started off in Hamunaptra, but we also started off with a big event thread called Here We Go Again. With a ton of new plots, new articles and new interest, we managed to kick off the game and kept it running ever since.

That did not mean we didn’t have a slow period, for we certainly did during May. It was during this time period where the staff members were considering on moving the game and have it self-hosted on the administrators (Vicky’s) domain. Upon agreement, we went along and did it, this time opening a website to host our information, and offering brand new features to members on the forums. Instead of restarting the game like we did during each move, we continued from where we left off on the Invisionfree board, but instead we copied over the IC threads by hand for safekeeping. Not to mention, we also decided to make summaries of all the threads on the website for new members to get more acquainted with the game.

It should be noted that while our posts may seem long and detailed, most of it isn’t made of fluff. Not to mention, our members love to mess with other peoples characters to ruin their characters lives. It isn’t anything personal, but that’s what the game is about. No matter what character you play or your characters allegiance, chances are you’re going to find yourself in a heap of trouble someday. After all you’re in a race with the O’Connell’s, the Medjai, the Djed, ancient reincarnates, along with Imhotep and Anck-su-namun!
