Hamunaptra

The City of the Dead, no one lived at Hamunaptra except for the warrior priests of Anubis, who protected the city from intruders. According to the laws of ancient Egypt, no unholy man was permitted to know the city’s location; therefore they’d execute anyone after their duties were completed to ensure the city is never found. In modern times due to the warrior priests extinction, the city is protected by the Medjai.

The city was the burial place for the ancient Egyptian royal family and some nobles, but it was replaced by the Valley of the Kings and Queens subsequently after Imhotep’s condemnation. Also according to legend, the city was capable of vanishing and reappearing at the Gods and pharaoh’s will by the click of a switch.
